What is the purpose of the Christian life? What is our driving mission? If you were to ask Jesus, I think he would probably answer using the following words: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV) That’s it.
The one thing that Jesus wants us to do, over and above everything else, is make disciples. Should everything else fall by the wayside, this one thing was to be the non-negotiable, all-encompassing drive of the church. It was his final instruction to his disciples and it remains his instruction to us as well. We are to be disciples who make disciples. But what does that mean?
We’ll explore the answer to that question and what discipleship means in each of our lives through this important series. Join us on Tuesdays 7:00pm-8:30pm at Trinity Early Childhood Center!
